SRC Donor Scholarships are made possible by the generosity of alumni, donors and friends. For scholarships that require demonstrated financial need, applicants must submit a FAFSA   by March 2. 

Incoming transfer students apply for our donor scholarships through the UCLA Scholarship Portal. Applications for scholarships due May 15 and June 30 open on March 29. The TAP Scholarship deadline is in early June; only TAP Eligible candidates will be considered. 

Notification: For applications due in April, students will be notified before the SIR deadline. For applications due May 15, students will be notified by July 31. For applications due June 30, students will be notified by August 31. You will be notified whether you receive or do not receive a scholarship. 

To access the application-specific questions, you must first complete General Application in the UCLA Scholarship Portal (consisting of general info and a personal statement). Each donor scholarship also requires a personal statement. Your essays may overlap– for our applications, make sure you answer the prompt attached to the specific scholarship opportunity.

Preference to sons, daughters, grandsons, or granddaughters of Acacia Fraternity members or Freemasons. $5,000 per year. Recipients of the Acacia Scholarship may renew the award each year until graduation if they remain in good academic standing. A maximum of three Acacia Scholarships at UCLA are awarded, though this scholarship is not available every year. Any eligible undergraduate may apply for the award in any year (freshman through senior.) Funding is renewable through the senior year only.

 

03/27 Donna L. Baer Scholarship for First Year Students

Preference to Palestinian students. Provides scholarship support to undergraduates with little to no assets pursuing a bachelor’s degree in one of the following majors: Engineering (all types), Physics, Chemistry (and Biochemistry), Mathematics, Botany, Biology (all types), Astrophysics, Astronomy, Aerospace, Anesthesiology, Anthropology, Archeology, Architecture, Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences, Bioengineering, Computer Science, Dentistry, Medicine, Environmental Science, Epidemiology, Genetics or Neuroscience. Applicants must demonstrate high financial need as determined by the UCLA Financial Aid & Scholarships office. Scholarship payments support immediate needs in terms of college costs, specifically tuition, room and board at UCLA, including books, fees and other expenses associated with the pursuit at UCLA of a bachelor’s degree. Recipients must maintain a GPA of 2.5 and continue pursuing one of the majors listed above in order to keep receiving scholarship payments.

Preference to rising senior transfer/re-entry students, with a preference to students who worked in the year previous to entering UCLA. Must demonstrate financial need.

03/27 D. Lewis and Lynn Bosley Mingori Undergraduate Scholarship

Available for entering first year students in Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science, or entering first year students with select majors within the UCLA College of Letters and Sciences or the UCLA School of Arts and Architecture, with preference to students who are high school seniors graduating from Alexander Hamilton High School. If there are no qualified students from Hamilton, then preference shall be given to LAUSD graduates.

 

01/24 Jim and Dorothy Carlson Undergraduate Benefit Scholarship

Preference to students from Sacramento, provides scholarship support to undergraduates in the UCLA College of Letters and Science.

01/24 Cathy D. and Michael A. Casteel Undergraduate Scholarship

For liberal arts undergraduate students, with preference to those pursuing the study of climate change, education or art. Apply in the UCLA Scholarship Portal.

01/24 Dr. Henry H. Chan Healthcare Endowed Scholarship

Preference to full-time UCLA upperclassmen pursuing a career in healthcare who carry a minimum 3.0 GPA and can demonstrate financial need as determined by the UCLA Financial Aid and Scholarships office. Dr. Chan himself graduated from UCLA; this scholarship furthers the legacy of his distinguished career in healthcare by supporting UCLA students following in those same footsteps.

01/24 Dr. Henry H. Chan Educator Scholarship

Preference to full time UCLA undergraduates who are aspiring educators and/or Belmont High School graduates. Henry H. Chan was a graduate of Belmont High School and wanted to share his gratitude to those who helped shape his education, particularly Mr. Simkin and Ms. Barnes.

03/27 Dr. Henry H. Chan First Generation Scholarship

Preference to entering first generation and/or Asian American students who can demonstrate financial need as determined by the UCLA Financial Aid and Scholarships office.

Clay Trust Honors Scholarship

Available for entering first year students majoring in physical science who demonstrate financial need and are eligible to participate in College Honors.

01/24 UCLA College Continuing Student Scholarship Program

The UCLA College Continuing Student Scholarship Program for continuing undergraduate students with a major in the UCLA College who demonstrate financial need and carry a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA, was established in 2022 to provide multiple scholarship awards each year. Awardees must be enrolled full-time.

Entering first-year students from University High School in West Los Angeles only. Award provides full amount of California resident tuition and room and board fees at UCLA. (Renewable for 4 years.) Apply 

01/24 Myrtle Hickey De Luce Scholarship

Open to UCLA undergraduates, with preference to students who graduated from Lincoln, Belmont, or John Marshall High Schools, and participate in at least one extracurricular activity. Minimum $2,000 per year.

03/27 Delson Scholarship

Available to entering students in the UCLA College who submit a Statement of Intent to Register, and who have financial need as determined by the UCLA Financial Aid Office. Candidates must be Bell or Huntington Park High School graduates with a minimum 3.0 high school G.P.A. preference to those who attended Nimitz Middle School. $8000, renewable for 4 years. Apply

03/27 Draine Family Foundation Scholarship

North Hollywood High School graduate with a minimum 3.0 GPA, who submits his/her Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) at UCLA for Fall Quarter. Applicants must demonstrate financial need. Award Amount: $1,000 to $2,500. Apply

03/27 Virginia Frey Scholarship

Available to entering first-year UCLA students who are graduates of El Monte High School (El Monte, CA) and demonstrate financial need. Covers up to full CA in-state fees.

Open to UCLA Undergraduate students with a 3.0 minimum GPA, academic potential or excellence, and financial need as determined by UCLA’s Financial Aid Office. Preference given to full-time UCLA undergraduates of Jewish descent.

Preference to African American students who demonstrate financial need and community service.

01/24 Helen Matthewson Club (HMC) Memorial Scholarship

Applicants must demonstrate that they are at least partially self-supporting, in financial need, and full-time, continuing or transfer students, California residents, and U.S. citizens. Applicants must maintain a minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA and be enrolled during Fall, Winter, and Spring Quarters. Award amount varies and is renewable.

 

01/24 Mingori Climate Science Scholarship

For rising juniors (apply during sophomore year) working on topics related to climate change, majoring in either Climate Science or Environmental Science (or related field). The Mingori Climate Science Scholarship was established in 2021. Preference to candidates who graduated from a California public high school.

01/24 The Murphy Family Centennial Scholars Undergraduate Scholarship

The Murphy Family Centennial Scholars Undergraduate Scholarship was established in 2017 to support scholarships for UCLA undergraduate students in the Division of Undergraduate Education with a preference for students who are studying Earth, Planetary and· Space Sciences or Life Sciences.

03/27 National Notary Foundation Scholarship

Open to entering first-year students who demonstrate financial need and strong leadership skills. Preference to students with a 3.5 minimum cumulative GPA, U.S. citizens, and California residents.

03/29 The Long Nguyen and Kimmy Duong Scholarship Program – Southern California

An external scholarship opportunity for Vietnamese American students enrolled at UCLA or one of three other southern California institutions (UC Irvine, Cal State Long Beach and Cal Poly Pomona); in addition to Vietnamese heritage, applicants should be between 17-30 years old, be able to demonstrate financial need, outstanding academic achievement, strong leadership potential, good knowledge of one’s Vietnamese heritage, service to Vietnamese and/or American communities, a deep desire to help establish a better world, and a passion to protect the values of freedom, democracy and human rights worldwide; special consideration will be given to applicants with low to moderate household income, those returning to school to help improve their families’ lives or students who are trying to recover from a past criminal record and improve their own lives.

01/24 Nancy Diane Orford Scholarship

Preference to an enrolled UCLA student in good academic standing diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis. Students with other disabilities will also be considered.

05/08 UCLA College Reentry Scholarship

A scholarship for re-entry students aged 25 to 50. Scholarships are based on merit and financial need. $5000, renewable for a second year.

 

01/24 John Ringlbauer/Wallace Brown UCLA Veteran’s Scholarship

Annual award for a full-time UCLA student enlisted in the Armed Forces Veterans who honorably served the U.S. Preference to those who made the greatest commitment or sacrifice during their service.

Available for entering first year students in the UCLA College with preference for those who are residents of San Diego County with a minimum GPA of 3.75.

Preference to Armenian students with financial need who evidence leadership through extracurricular activities at UCLA, in the community, or other activity with a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA. Award Amount varies: provides for registration fees and educational materials.

01/24 Theta Xi Fraternity Alpha Zeta Chapter Barman Scholarship

Award amount varies. Open to continuing UCLA students who are enrolled full time and part of a chapter in the UCLA Interfraternity Council, with preference to those who are active members of Theta Xi. Minimum 3.0 GPA. 06/20 Undergraduate Research Scholars Program

The Undergraduate Research Scholars Program (URSP) is a year-long program that supports students engaged in upper-level research under the guidance of a faculty mentor. Students in the Humanities and Social Sciences should apply through the URC-HASS. Students in the Sciences should apply through the URC-Sciences.

11/15 Undergraduate Research Fellows Program

The Undergraduate Research Fellows Program (URFP) is an early career research program administered by the Undergraduate Research Centers. STEM students apply through URC Sciences, Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences students apply through URC HASS.

URFP Recipients:

  • Receive a $3,000 scholarship to conduct research
  • Enroll in a Student Research Program (SRP) 99 course or a 199/198/196 departmental research course for both winter and spring quarters
  • Enroll in Honors Collegium 101A: Student Research Forum in winter quarter
  • Present their research at Undergraduate Research Week or submit a summary of their research at the end of spring quarter
  • Enroll in a minimum of 12 units in winter and spring quarters (note: students completing their URFP research requirements through SRP 99 courses should enroll in a minimum of 12 units before enrolling in the SRP 99 courses)

Deadline is Nov 15.

01/24 Carl H. Unruh Undergraduate Scholarship

This scholarship is reserved for adoptees, students that come from a family that includes adoptees, adoptive parents, student parents who have surrendered a child for adoption, foster parents, students that have spent time in foster care and/or students who have a research interest in adoption-related issues.

03/27 Jim Varney Scholarship

The scholarship is open to high school students from Tennessee and Kentucky only. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative 3.75 GPA, major in a College of Letters and Science department, and aspire to a career in theater or drama.

 

Natalie Joy Ward Scholarship

Available for entering first year students in the UCLA College (select majors), the Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science (any major), the Herb Alpert School of Music (select majors), or the School of the Arts and Architecture (select majors) with preference to students who are high school seniors graduating from the Los Angeles Center for Enriched Studies (LACES).
